Join the Team for "Rotting Circuits" – A Post-Apocalyptic Survival Project

We are a small, dedicated international team of eight currently building Rotting Circuits, an ambitious open-world, sandbox survival game with deep, layered mechanics. If you’re wondering what the game is like, imagine if The Walking Dead had a child with The Terminator. It’s a world where gritty, "low-tech" survival meets decaying, high-tech threats.

We are looking for a Unity C# Programmer to join our global crew. Since this is a hobby project, it’s a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your skills, build a stand-out portfolio, and experience what it’s like to work within a coordinated team of developers from all over the world.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Combat Systems: Helping us implement scavenged tech like plasma revolvers, laser marksman rifles, and gauntlet-style weapons.

  • Player Mechanics: Working on the versatile player exosuit system and modular armor.

  • Enemy AI: Bringing our "Zomborg" threats to life to make the open world feel dangerous and reactive.

  • Collaboration: Using Unity to turn our collective vision into a playable, visceral experience.

This is a long-term passion project, and we’re looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, and meet new people while building something unique. If you love post-apocalyptic sci-fi and want to help us bridge the gap between human survival and "rotting" circuitry, we’d love to have you on board!

Hey, this project sounds really cool, and would be intrested in joining.

I’ve been working in Unity with C# on my own projects, mostly focused on gameplay systems like combat, player state machines, movement, and animations (blend trees, input handling, etc.). I’d definitely be interested in helping out with combat, player mechanics, or AI.

I’m also looking to get more experience working with a team and contributing to a bigger project like this.
