Hi everyone,

I've been working on a small Android game called CYDI - Can You Draw It?, and it's now on Google Play for free.

The idea is simple: the game shows you a shape, you try to redraw it as accurately as you can with your finger, and you get an instant score out of 100% based on how closely your line matches the target. No timer, no fail state - just you, the shape, and a number telling you how steady your hand actually is.

It sounds easy until you try it. One straight line is fine. Six of them meeting at the right angles is a completely different problem.

It's built with React + Capacitor, and most of the interesting work went into the scoring - comparing a messy human stroke against the reference path in a way that feels fair rather than punishing.

If you give it a try, I'd love to hear what you score on the hexagon - post your number below. Happy to answer any questions about how the scoring works.

Quick update for anyone who tried this: CYDI isn't solo-only any more.

2 Players — two people share one device and take turns on the same shape. Neither drawing is revealed until you've both drawn, then both attempts show up side by side.

Play Together — one player opens a room and shares a short code or a QR link. Everyone in the room gets the same shape at the same time, and each round ends with a winner reveal and a scoreboard.

Guests join straight from a browser: no account, no install. The original solo mode is unchanged if that's what you're here for.

Quick CYDI update: I've started turning individual shapes and objects from the game into standalone browser challenges, so you can jump straight into a "draw it from memory" round without installing anything or starting a full game.

Each one is a single page that starts as soon as you open it: the object is shown for a few seconds, the canvas goes blank, you redraw it, and you get a score out of 100 with your line drawn over the target so you can see where it drifted.

Cat and dog challenges are already live, next to a few pure-shape ones (circle, star, heart), with more being added:

They are practice rounds - nothing to unlock and nothing saved - so they double as the quickest way to see what the game actually is before committing to it.

Small CYDI milestone update: this past week the game had its first real traffic spike, with several thousand games played in a day and hundreds of active devices.

That was useful for more than just the numbers — it became the first proper real-world stress test of the player flow. Multiplayer also started getting meaningful use, and I've been learning much more about where players drop out and how much friction there is before the first round.

One thing that came out of that is the standalone browser challenges: you can now experience the core loop immediately without installing anything.
