Hi everyone,
I’m Giannis from IMarin Labs. I recently released Editor Companion, an editor-only Unity tool that puts a small animated pet directly inside your workspace.
I originally made it to make long Unity development sessions feel a little less empty. The companion can float beside the Unity Editor, live in a regular docked window, or appear as a Scene View Overlay.
It can respond to what is happening while you work, including Play Mode, compilation, Console warnings and errors, successful builds, clicks, and inactivity.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
• Four included companions with individual profiles
• Floating, docked, and Scene View Overlay modes
• Reactions to common Unity Editor events
• Scheduled and repeating reminders
• Custom Pet Wizard for creating companions from transparent PNG animation frames
• Profile import and export
• No components or content added to player builds
CUSTOM PET WIZARD
The wizard takes transparent PNG animation frames and creates the sprite sheets, animations, transparency bounds, click regions, and configuration required by Editor Companion.
A complete example companion named Pico is included to demonstrate the workflow.
COMPATIBILITY
• Unity 2022.3 LTS or newer
• Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Editor-only
• Render-pipeline independent
On Linux, transparent floating mode requires X11 or XWayland. Docked mode and the Scene View Overlay can be used on native Wayland.

The launch price is $10 through September 2. The regular price is $20.
The Unity Asset Store version is currently under review, and the Fab version is coming soon.
I’d appreciate any feedback, especially about the Custom Pet Wizard and what additional companion reactions would be useful.
