Hi guyws and girls, I have currently been developing a professional website that contains similar (but original) content like nehe.gamedev.com, The problem is that i am looking for a decent, fast webhosting service that is FREE and doesn''t contain any banners or popups! For example, prove to gamedev that you have useful content that they do not already have, and you could get hosted. Mind you, you will have to keep up appearances, update constantly, and keep GOOD+USEFUL content all times. Someone will probably host you if you have a good case.

If you want to find the best free web service, search on the internet for free+web+hosting+no ads, and it should return a few hits. A lot of the time, you get screwed, especially by the companies offers that seem to good to be true. This one website, claming to be absolutely free, charged you like $30.00/year domain name, like $30.00/month .NET support, and so on. Also, the best ad-free, large-space, and fair free web hosting services do something like www.soandsowebhosting.com/~yourname, but that''s not a problem, go to, ummm, well, I thought I remembered it. Some other posters should know, its like idj.com or something (that''ll just take you to a jewelry website, though), it offers domain-forwarding (as I like to call it, I don''t really know what it''s called, I think it''s domain-forwarding), where you have something like yourname.idj.com (or whatever it''s called), and it forwards it, so it redirects it to one of the duller but better hosting services (www.sdfoshfo.com/~yourname), which is pretty cool. Also, spaceports.com works pretty well, web-hosting-wise.

coolfreepages.com has some pretty good hosting...although there is one popunder banner. about the ''domain forwarding'', i use www.cjb.net personally so instead of dirkduck.sphosting.com I ahve labino.cjb.net

Anyone know some good free hosting that allows you to link directly to pictures/files, outside of your webpage? Brinkster won''t let me post pictures in the forums here because its outside of my site. Its becoming a pain in the butt.
