Any trueSpace users?
Hey, I''m a trueSpace user, and I love it! it''s so easy to use, and it''s the first modeling package I put my hands on, so I''m kinda used to it.
There''s a limitted toolset(compared to MAX), so I learned to work with a limitted toolset. But it kinda sucks, cause I don''t use all the cool features that MAX has. And I remember when I started modeling, I wish I had some tools to do some special stuff, and TS didn''t have them, so I learned to go without them.
Anyways, Eng3d: you said that trueSpace sucks. Can I know why? Please don''t restrain yourself; bitch as much as you want; I wanna hear it.

I am a old-truespace-users (i spend a lot of time on this #########mother programs), so i known it!.
Lack of truespace.
-a good texture tools, not this ugly and good-for-nothing 3d-brush.. you can managed the u-v map with truespace?.
-is not good for precision modelling, is really a pain to change vertex in a complex structure.
-the render process is not good.
etc...
even i think that blender is better that truespace.

Which version are u talking about?
There has changed a lot since TS 3.1 :-)
(alas) I don''t have it, but, from what I read about TS 5.2,
it really kicks ass!
And its price/performance is really hard to beat.

Well, I wouldn''t know of any other 3d programs about uv management, but I know that in truespace, you can choose like 5 types of uv; like spheerical, cubical, cylindrical, planar, etc..

how is that? I''d like to know.
Bah, I don''t know, I started with TS. So it''s kinda my "first love", you know. The situration sucks, cause It''s my favorite package(well, it''s also because I know it more than the others), and if you say it sucks(which is probably right), well it sucks for me.
Unshaved: I have TS 5.1; get it off kazaa!!

i tried the ts4... you can use wrapper for u-v map, but later you need a real u-v map editor.
Price/performance is only a details.. for a real-work you want to have the best programs.. In fact, if you spend many month in some programs, paid more for a programs is a good inversion.
If you use 3dsmax, you never return back to truespace =).
Also, i *cof* *cof* "obtain" a copy of truespace 5 for evaluation.. but sincery only see a little then un-installed.

... and if you ever lay your hands on Maya, you can be glad to remember the other modelling packages names. Especially the UV/skinning part is soooo much more friendly, nicer than Max, and Truespace was just.. so.. very... nasty. You don´t get very far with planar/cylindrical/whatever UV´s - this is where Maya´s auto-unwrapper comes in really handy.
Did I mention that A|W finally released the PLE of Maya?
What''s a PLE?
neways, I''ve been using max(I finished the "introduction to max 3" book.). And I model very easily and faster than max.(well, it''s true that I don''t even have 5 hours of max modeling under my belt, compared to 50+ of trueSpace.)
Maybe that it sucks for the rest, but for its modeling, I find it pretty neat.(but again, I''m just a nobody in this field)
I''d like to know your opinion. For example, take a look at its new nurbs modeling(it''s a small video): http://www.caligari.com/products/truespace/ts5/tutvids/NURBS.wmv
