First of all, the beta has not opened. Please ask Philip Taylor to put it on Kazaa.

Oh wait, putting it on Kazaa would not be a good thing. If you REALLY needed it, you could get on the beta the right way. I''m guessing you can get by with DX8.1.

Why is everyone so fixated on DX9?? Are you done learning 8.1?

Why do i get the feeling that it''s not true. first of all, microsoft wouldn''t name a library d3dxxx because it sounds like something from a porn site. 2nd, i''m not much of a linux developer but why the heck would microsoft want to help linux developers? 3rd on lower case names, there wouldn''t be any point to it. it''s only shouting when your ina chatroom. plus, in hungarian notation they recommend a C not a c. I doubt that also.

About microsoft using OpenGL, give me a fricken break. they let go of it at version i don''t even know. now they worry bout directx and they wouldn''t switch. that''s bull crap. The message box thing is also a load of bull $hit. WTF would microsoft do stuff like that? it helps them in no way and it would discourage people from using their products.

direct play integrated with kazaa? how much more bull crap could u fricken say. you''re a dumbass. as for the being shot thing, not all stuff made with directx is a 1st person shooter so that''s also a load of bull crap, not to mention that not all programs even have the option to die, only start over.

Well, you''re retarded and stop wasting space

You should learn to recognize crap posts. It''ll save you a lot of words and keep your BP down. The statements were so illogical (and funny, in a strange sort of way) that they couldn''t possibly be true.

I''m gullible that way, I always watch for and listen to profound things.

I actually thought the "sounds like shouting" thing would have been an actual request from programmers that Microsoft was gracious enough to listen to.

My hopeful mental reaches got me into trouble more times than I can count!

well, ms was hiring dx9 beta testers alomost 4-5 month ago, so i figured they might have a beta release by now, they just dont want to release it to the public. for some reason, this made sence to me last night,

It might be frustrating, but you have to understand the point of beta testing. They want to be sure that they limit the number of people so that they limit the number of people they have to support and the amount of discussion, etc. they have to sort through.

I''m very sorry - I understand your frustration, but I can''t condone "stealing" it.

Sorry I didn''t see this post earlier.

Actually, the directx 9 beta was released and it was actually back in december i believe. I remember because I used to go to the microsoft directx site all the time -- all you had to do was register and you could download it, no questions asked, but it was only up for short while. I''m sure you can find it somewhere.

The D3D9 Beta has not yet been realeased.

I do not beleive it is very difficult to get on the beta program. The Beta for DX is different from typical beta''s in that it goes out more to developers then to the public.
