I need transparent images for my new game, and I wanted to see if I could get antialiased-transparencies by using PNG instead of GIF formats. I downloaded and added to my classpath the Sixlegs PNG Decoding classes... but I cannot seem to get even an image to show up with them, let alone a transparent one. The sixlegs site says that their object is compatible with all versions of Java between and including 1.1 and 1.4, but I even tried copying their source from the examples included into my program... but to no avail. Has anybody had any experience with the Sixlegs PngImage? Or does anybody have any better suggestions for image transparency?
