Does one kPa = 100Pa or 1000Pa?

According to my book on meteorology, one kPA is one thousand Pa.

Errrr... I dont mean to sound condescending or something, maybe you are just one of those strange people using the imperial system ? But dont you know what the "k" stands for ?
It means kilo, which means a thousand. like in kilobytes, a thousand bytes (although hardcore computer geeks will tell you this isnt exactly true, but let''s not get started).

if it was a hundred Pa, you would have 1 hPa ( 1 hectopascal).

go there if you want to understand the wonderful world of metric system

:D Its actually 1024 and I dont think you need to be a computer geek to know that. However convenient people thought it was, its really just confusing to computer newbies. Wether they should have made a whole new name or not I am not sure... maybe they should have made the measuring accurate to every 8th byte? this would have made more sense...

But, just like the hexadecimal clock and the drivers in england, its too late. .sen
