I doubt anyone here is going to want to help someone with their pissing contest, especially since it was insited by the little Seraph from VA, USA who said "Soda if I hear any comments about GameDev.net I send a data bomb to blow up your computer". If you have personal conflicts with people on other boards deal with them yourself. Don''t come here asking people to be your ''gang''.

Sorry to reopen this but I''m annoyed.

First, I could care less about the personal insults being thrown around.

What bothers me is that this guy likes to slam GDNet whenever he gets a chance. I did a search for him on Google, and he''s done it on other forums. The only reasons he ever cites for GameDev.net being "gay" and an unreliable source of information are that no one visiting here works for a major game industry-related company (something which I''d think many of you would disagree with, since I know people from EA, 3D Realms, Legend, Bungie, Microsoft, Nvidia, Monolith, and on and on, visit here) and that the people running GameDev.net aren''t professional game developers *AHEM*.

I know I''m probably more emotionally attached to the issue than anyone else, but isn''t anyone else bothered by this characterization of our community? He''s obviously entitled to his opinion of the site, but his opinion seems to be based not on facts, but on... hearsay, maybe? Maybe he''s been reading the flipcode forums...

There's always someone to call you gay or stupid, no matter who you are or what you do. Just think about this Dave, who's the professional game programmer, author, & website owner; and who's the lamer posting stupid comments to random message boards? Lots of people on this site love it, who cares what some nameless jackass thinks?

Sounds like this guy has some emotional problems and should be pitied...from afar. Anyone who would go out of their way to mock something that means something to someone else is pretty lame. Don''t get sucked into the lameness pit with him or we''d have to pity you. Just nod your head and say in a soothing voice "It''s okay. It''s all going to be okay" all the while making for the tranq dart on the table.

nothing bothers people like that more than patronizing them. in the most condescending manner possible of course.

Yes, I would have to say that anyone that describes something as "gay" (as an insult) has already thrown away all credibility they may have had. The only thing to do to incompetent trolls like that is too ignore them. Arguing with them only makes them want to post more.

I assume that this guy is not professional(at least he doesn''t act like it)..maybe his lack of success and his distaste for gamedev.net are related in some way..Today I''m a professional developer. I would not be in this position if it weren''t for gamedev.net. I have gotten more useful information from THIS site than anywhere else on the internet(and I have LOOKED).

The big problem with stupid people like this is when people give them credibility that they don''t deserve..the guy''s obviously incorrect, I know it, you know it, but your average idiot out there might not..

If it''s any consolation(probably not much), the people that would avoid this site based on HIS words probably don''t belong here anyway..

Try not to take it any more personally than you would if the guy said similar crazy things, such as "Filet mignon sucks", or "It''s fun to be broke and homeless", or "gamedev.net is lame"..

Just ignore the little twerp. Without even realising it, he is probably doing the site a favour.
