HP Anyware is being sunset: A practical guide for postproduction teams
HP has stopped selling new HP Anyware subscriptions, and the clock is now running for teams that built remote editorial or finishing pipelines around it. The Anyware Trust Center and Trusted Zero Clients reach end of support on Oct. 31, 2026, while broader HP Anyware support and maintenance continue until Oct. 31, 2029 for existing terms. That gives some breathing room, but it also means studios need a plan before unsupported infrastructure becomes a security or compliance liability.
The big reason this matters is workflow continuity. HP Anyware was widely used to centralize graphics-heavy workstations and expose them remotely across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. In production terms, that covers editing, grading, conform, QC, review, and finishing—exactly the places where latency, color fidelity, and peripheral support can make or break remote work.
Parsec is being positioned as the replacement path for many of those teams. Its pitch is low-latency GPU-side streaming, with sub-16 ms added latency in common creative workflows, up to 4K60, 10-bit and 4:4:4 color on Windows, multi-monitor support, and tablet input for tools like Wacom. It also keeps media on the studio’s own storage, using encrypted peer-to-peer connections rather than routing project files through Parsec’s infrastructure.
The catch is that this is not a one-size-fits-all swap. Parsec does not currently support Linux hosts, and it is not aimed at fully air-gapped deployments. That pushes many facilities toward a hybrid setup: Parsec for Windows and macOS editorial/review machines, plus a separate...
