Tencent, Xbox, Game Angels, Ansible and Flick to speak on Game Republic New Horizons investor stage

Briefing

Game Republic New Horizons is shaping up as a serious business-facing event for studios, with the Investor Zone now adding Tencent, Xbox, Game Angels, Ansible, and Flick Games to the speaker lineup. The mix points to both platform strategy and funding mechanics, which makes this especially relevant for teams trying to move from prototype to production.

A fireside chat with Tencent business development director Teddy Keefe will sit alongside a panel titled “Beyond the Pitch: Securing (and Surviving) Angel Investment,” featuring The Game Angels’ Nick Button-Brown, Ansible’s Tracy McGarrigan, and Flick Games’ Ian Masters. That combination should be useful for developers trying to understand what investors actually want, how to present risk, and what happens after the first meeting.

Xbox is also set to run a session focused on bringing games to its platform, while the BFI and Innovate UK are among the other organisations appearing at the event. Games London will host additional sessions and bring an international cohort of games investors on October 15, widening the range of funding and publishing contacts available to attendees.

The conference runs at Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough from October 14 to 16. Game Republic is clearly positioning the Investor Zone as a place where studios can compare private investment, platform opportunities, and public support in one room, which is exactly the kind of cross-section many teams need when planning their next funding round.
