GamesIndustry.biz once again turned Brighton Pier into an industry meetup spot during Develop: Brighton, hosting its Summer Party for a sold-out crowd of UK games professionals. The event ran through the England-Argentina World Cup semi-final, with the match screened at the venue and a separate football-free terrace for anyone who wanted to keep the focus on networking.

For developers, these gatherings matter because they compress a lot of relationship-building into one evening: meeting peers, reconnecting with old contacts, and making the kind of introductions that can lead to hiring, publishing, outsourcing, or future collaboration. The party came after what was described as the busiest Develop yet, so it also served as a decompression point for teams who had spent the day in talks, meetings, and business development.

Renaissance PR and Green Man Gaming sponsored the event. The next GamesIndustry.biz event on the calendar is the HR Summit on October 1 at the Royal Institution in London, which will also host the Best Places To Work Awards UK. Develop: Brighton is set to return July 13-15, 2027, and the Summer Party will be back next year as well.
