Save the Children announces its first game and streaming fundraising event called Save Point
Save the Children is moving into games fundraising with Save Point, a new streaming event scheduled for December 5-6, 2026. It’s the charity’s first effort built specifically around gaming and livestreams, and it’s being positioned as a more accessible alternative to traditional fundraising formats like marathons or in-person events.
The charity is partnering with streamer TheKapFantastic, who previously raised more than £5,000 for Save the Children earlier this year. Fiona Baxter, the charity’s senior fundraising manager, says the goal is to build stronger relationships with gamers and streamers, not just collect donations for a single campaign. The team is also treating this as a learning exercise, with feedback from the event expected to shape future gaming fundraisers.
Save Point sits under Save the Children’s wider The One Delivery That Matters campaign, which launches in November 2026. That campaign is aimed at highlighting the basic essentials many children will need this Christmas instead of gifts: food, medicine, warm clothes, and safe shelter. For developers and creators in the space, the practical takeaway is that charities are increasingly treating gaming communities as a serious fundraising channel, not just a niche outreach target.
Baxter describes gamers and streamers as an underused fundraising audience and says the community’s shared love of stories and play can be turned into real-world impact. If this lands well, it could become a template for more charity-led livestream events that rely on creator participation, community challenges, and low-friction...
