XBOX @ Tokyo Game Show 2026

Briefing

Xbox is using Tokyo Game Show 2026 to underline how much Japan and the wider Asian market now matter to its platform strategy. The company is marking more than 20 years in Japan with a special broadcast, a show floor presence, and a FanFest stop, all tied to its 25th year of play.

The broadcast is set for Thursday, September 17 at 7:00pm JST, with live streams on Tokyo Game Show’s YouTube channel plus Xbox’s US and Japanese social channels. It will include TGS-exclusive content, new gameplay, and a mix of Japanese and English audio, with ASL and English audio descriptions available at launch. Captions and post-show language support will cover a wide range of languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

On the floor, attendees in Tokyo will get first hands-on access to Minecraft Dungeons II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Minecraft Dungeons II is slated for day-one Game Pass on September 29, 2026, while Modern Warfare 4’s multiplayer will be playable ahead of its global launch on October 23, 2026. Xbox is also highlighting its partnership with Happinet for the Call of Duty presence in Hall 6, 06-N4.

For developers, the bigger story is the continued expansion of Xbox’s partner network in Japan and the company’s push to make TGS a global marketing stage. The event is being positioned as both a regional celebration and a platform for games that can travel worldwide, which is exactly the kind of visibility that matters when you’re trying to break out of a local market or build momentum...

“Xbox is committed to being the stage where new and beloved franchises reach players around the world.”
