Team17 owner Everplay increases shareholding in Wardogs dev Bulkhead, touts strong FY26 results
GamesIndustry.biz reports that Everplay has increased its shareholding in Bulkhead after Wardogs exceeded expectations following its September 10 early-access launch. The move comes as the Team17 owner says it expects strong full-year FY26 results, helped by Bulkhead’s performance and Expression Games’ Hell Let Loose: Vietnam also beating expectations.
The company’s unaudited half-year numbers for the six months ended June 30, 2026 show revenue down 8% to £66.9 million and profit down 29% to £23.9 million. Even so, the back catalogue held up well, rising 1.2% to £64.3 million across more than 150 titles, which is the kind of stability that matters when new-release cadence is uneven.
Everplay launched four new titles in the period — Lumentale: Memories of Trey, Sintopia, Wardrum, and Rogue Point — while StoryToys posted a 43% revenue increase, 22% more active subscribers, and more than 18 million total downloads. Development spend rose 14% to £16.4 million, supporting work on 20% more titles than a year ago.
The broader takeaway for developers is that Everplay is doubling down on a portfolio strategy built around resilient catalogue revenue, first-party IP, and selective investment in breakout projects. The company says 65% of games in development are now original concepts or first-party IP, suggesting it wants more control over long-term value rather than relying purely on external licensing or one-off releases.
“Our back catalogue posted another resilient performance... underpinning the solid foundations upon which Everplay is built.”
