Aniimo Launches Today – Begin Your Journey into Idyll
XBox Wire says Aniimo is launching today, opening Pawprint Studio’s creature-collecting open-world RPG to players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Game Pass. The game centers on exploring Idyll, collecting Aniimo, and using Twining to take on creature abilities for traversal, puzzles, and combat.
At launch, the roster tops 200 Aniimo, including new additions like Squarrel and its evolution, Squashel. Pawprint Studio also says beta feedback led to a full redesign of the Irisalis Legendary encounter flow, with changes to capture, encounter pacing, and the ritual sequence. That matters because Legendary fights are often where onboarding, readability, and retention get stress-tested hardest.
The studio also folded in broader progression tuning: a simplified Held Item system, higher Star Dust drop rates, and progression caps that now unlock naturally with level growth. Homeland gameplay has been expanded too, with more map features, activities, and interactive elements, suggesting the team is trying to smooth the midgame loop rather than just ship content.
On the technical side, the launch build includes control optimization for mobile devices and gamepads, plus multilingual voice acting for the main story and improved translations across supported languages. For teams building live creature-collectors, the interesting takeaway is how much of the launch pitch is framed around iteration on systems, not just content volume.
