Gears of War: E-Day x Liquid Death – Unlock a Legendary Pose and More

Briefing

XBox Wire says Gears of War: E-Day is teaming with Liquid Death for a launch-period promotion that mixes in-game cosmetics with a merch drop. Players who buy Liquid Death Energy through participating retailers can unlock Chainsaw Flex, a Legendary animated pose usable on any playable character, along with a Liquid Death banner, emblem, and icon.

The redemption flow runs through liquiddeath.com/freechainsaws and requires connecting a retailer account before purchasing through Amazon, Target, Walmart, Instacart, or Kroger. The offer is limited to the U.S. and runs from September 25 through November 30, 2026, which makes it a fairly standard but tightly bounded brand-collab campaign.

There’s also a physical tie-in: a Liquid Death x Gears of War: E-Day chainsaw pint glass goes on sale today at 12pm PT for $25 through the Liquid Death Merch Store. For developers, this is another reminder that premium cosmetics and cross-promotional rewards are still a useful lever for launch marketing, especially when the reward is a visible, shareable animation rather than a static badge.

The broader context is that E-Day is being positioned as a modern Unreal Engine 5 entry with 4K and up to 60FPS support, so the promotion helps keep the game in circulation while pre-launch messaging leans on both nostalgia and novelty. The exact in-game economy impact is minimal, but the campaign shows how first-party marketing can extend a game’s identity beyond the store page and into retail partnerships.

“Nothing says “I’m fine, everything’s fine” on Emergence Day quite like flexing with a Chainsaw.”
