Steam Deck Framerate data
Steamworks Development has updated the partner dashboard with Steam Deck framerate distribution data for Steam Deck Verified titles. Developers can find it under Technical Tools > Steam Hardware Compatibility Review, alongside the existing average framerate and customer feedback charts.
The new chart shows how sampled play sessions are spread across framerate ranges, based on opt-in anonymized data from Steam Deck players. Valve says most Steam Deck users have opted in, which should make the dataset broad enough to reflect a range of play styles and hardware usage.
For developers, the practical value is in spotting patterns that averages can hide. A game that can hit 90 FPS on OLED may still show lower sessions if players cap frame rate to save battery, and docked play on higher-refresh external displays can skew results upward. Valve also notes that loading screens and other sampled time are included, so low-FPS segments need context before they’re treated as gameplay problems.
The big takeaway is that Valve is trying to make Deck performance easier to interpret without forcing teams to guess from a single number. Because Steam Deck hardware is standardized, it’s a useful first step toward richer performance telemetry, and Valve is explicitly asking for feedback as it iterates on the presentation.
