AEGIS VECTOR

THE ARENA IS YOURS.

About This Project

AEGIS VECTOR

THE ARENA IS YOURS.

AEGIS VECTOR is an original multiplayer military science-fiction first-person shooter inspired by the classic arena gameplay, combined-arms battles and creative multiplayer sandbox of Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.

The goal is to build a multiplayer experience centred around enjoyable combat, equal starting capabilities, memorable environments, interesting weapons, vehicle battles and player freedom.

Aegis Vector is currently in early development using Unity 6.3 LTS, with an in-engine prototype and ongoing gameplay testing.

The Gameplay

Aegis Vector focuses on traditional arena combat, with no hero classes or character-specific abilities.

Players begin with the same fundamental capabilities and compete for control of weapons, equipment, vehicles and objectives across the battlefield.

The intended gameplay combines responsive movement with a sense of physical weight, regenerating personal shields, classic map pickups and a flexible combat sandbox.

Planned Multiplayer Experiences

BIG TEAM BATTLE — 12v12

The flagship multiplayer experience, featuring large maps, infantry battles, military vehicles, tanks, aircraft and combined-arms objective gameplay.

SOCIAL ARENA — 4v4

Classic arena multiplayer, with Slayer, Capture the Flag and other objective-based modes.

RANKED ARENA — 4v4

A separate competitive experience with visible progression and stricter competitive rules.

CUSTOM GAMES

Create custom match configurations, experiment with the game's weapons and equipment, and enjoy unusual sandbox experiences with friends.

ANVIL

A planned Forge-style level editor designed for creating multiplayer arenas, custom maps and community experiences.

Weapons, Equipment and Vehicles

The planned arsenal includes conventional ballistic weapons, precision rifles, shotguns, heavy explosives, railguns and experimental energy weapons.

Players can also acquire battlefield equipment such as grappling devices, camouflage systems, deployable protection and specialised tactical tools.

Larger maps are intended to feature a range of vehicles, including light utility vehicles, armed transports, tanks, combat VTOL aircraft and other military equipment.

The emphasis is on allowing these systems to interact naturally, creating unpredictable and memorable multiplayer moments.

Player Customisation and Progression

Players take control of Vectors, enhanced super-soldiers equipped with advanced powered armour.

Planned customisation includes interchangeable helmets, chest armour, shoulders, visors, armour colours, weapon appearances and emblems.

A permanent military-style Career Rank system rewards gameplay with cosmetic unlocks, achievements and additional content.

The game also includes plans for hidden environmental discoveries and optional lore entries earned through progression.

The Aegis Universe

Aegis Vector takes place in a large interstellar human civilisation facing political divisions, military conflicts and mysterious extraterrestrial threats.

Players are members of the APEX Programme: genetically and cybernetically enhanced soldiers created to survive threats beyond the capabilities of conventional human infantry.

The multiplayer experience is presented through the Aegis War Games Programme, an advanced military combat simulation used to maintain operational readiness between deployments.

An optional in-game Codex will explore the universe through historical accounts, military records, ship histories, personal journals and classified documents.

The story is designed to complement the multiplayer experience without requiring a traditional single-player campaign.

Current Development Status

Aegis Vector is an early-stage project, not a completed or publicly available game.

It is being developed in Unity 6.3 LTS, using Unity's Multiplayer FPS template as an initial technical foundation.

Current work includes:

  • First-person movement and weapon testing.

  • Equipment prototyping.

  • Early multiplayer UI and menus.

  • Scoreboard and HUD development.

  • Pregame, respawn and match interface work.

  • Greyboxed combat environments.

  • Firing Range testing and gameplay iteration.

The current screenshots show an unfinished development build. Models, animations, environments, UI and weapon behaviour remain subject to change.

Some systems and temporary assets originate from the template, while the project continues developing its own mechanics, presentation and visual identity.

Planned features such as the full vehicle sandbox, public matchmaking, completed playlists and Anvil are not yet fully implemented.

Visual Direction

The intended visual style is grounded retro-futuristic military science fiction.

The focus is on functional engineering, recognisable powered armour, strong weapon silhouettes, practical vehicles, detailed spacecraft and memorable environments.

The planned multiplayer maps range from coastal military valleys and industrial installations to geothermal facilities and larger science-fiction locations.

Original visual development and production artwork are ongoing priorities.

Settings InterfaceDevelopment and Collaboration

Aegis Vector is currently a solo-led independent project.

Development is focused on building a playable multiplayer foundation and establishing an original, consistent visual identity.

I'm currently welcoming enquiries from concept artists interested in volunteer collaboration on armour, weapons, vehicles, characters and environment designs.

Potential contributions begin with a small, mutually agreed deliverable. These are unpaid, credited collaborations; any commercial-use licensing and portfolio rights will be agreed beforehand.

Further development updates, screenshots and gameplay demonstrations will be shared as the project progresses.
