#LIFE, LIFE? WHAT LIFE?

I don't even know where to start. Originally, this would've been my next, scheduled update for my project, but it got derailed. So hard in fact that now I can wholeheartedly say that there's going to be a D-E-L-A-Y! ***oof*** I mean for once, these past two months have been a roller-coaster, to say the least . . . But I wanted to keep this blog true to what I was working on, whilst maintaining a healthy focus on what was important and what was relevant. Sort of . . . You know how it goes, right?

But some IRL stuff kept happening, which also affected me in numerous ways: namely my Grandma, who had an accident just before Christmas, and now's been hospitalized again, for other reasons (she's extremely week). So that clusterfudge has put an additional pressure on my shoulders, which affected my work. I felt--and still--pressured, to work harder and pump out more content that I can (in)humanly do. And of course, there were these ups, in the mist of all, where that random collab video I did was picked up, and blew me out of the water. And that took my time off as well, as I've spent time working on two more! Even teamed up with an audio engineer, to help us out (after conducting a brief audition; that stuff is not easy!). So things started to puck up, and I've began to stray away from this project, as I had to split my limited attention. Which would be fine, because I'm used to it; but there was something else: I got this sudden urge to prove that after more than a year (can't even compute this fact), this project was going somewhere noteworthy; and it was going now (see below). Think, I just wanted to see it, for the first time, other than my head; wanted to materialize something of it.

Which experiment quickly brought me back to reality, and reminded me of my place: as to, it will be long before I'd be able to see some meaningful core game mechanics. Which I perfectly knew, way before I started this project; but still bummed me out a tad (especially that now I've reached another roadblock). Which also reminded me of the fact that I should do a reality check on things, and accept the fact that I can't do everything on my own. So I've been thinking of reaching out to others, and see if someone out there, in the big-wide-open, would think to join me on my quest; to create something truly unique and original. To put back the Action into ARPG (top down) games, once and for all!

Big dreams, big goals. Way to go. Am I right? And still, I think that I should be apologizing for not being able to keep up . . . Despite the fact that nobody is forcing me to do this. Just my never ending passion for games and the urge to create something new; I guess.

#WIP & FIRST TEST FOOTAGE

The next update will be about the primary weapon you'd be able to use in EOTH: The spear. I've gotten--a tad bit--carried away, and chose to design a spear, with a small flag on it (which was made out of 3d embroidery). Because the way I designed it, each and every thread has to be adjusted, before rendering (which will take a week or so to do); but it'll look amazing! I don't remember sharing such incomplete WIPs before, but hey, there's a first for everything, right? Although, I won't make a habit out of this. This entry is just an exception. (Me from the FUTURE: Nah bro, this ain't your first!)

And as I hinted before, I've done some things within Unreal Engine, with my super janktastic abilities. Which quickly gave me a flashback, whilst I was running into some problems that I might not be able to easily solve; as they might need more than some basic tinkering with blueprints (namely C++). So that's fun, I guess. But, that's the nature of developing a game. Pushing your boundaries further and further . . . But that's a story for another day. It's getting late, and I'm sure you're wondering what I managed to cook up in Unreal. So without further ado, I'll let you enjoy this 1 minute video of running like a wild boar:
