Hey everyone! In today's dev blog, I'll be going over what happens before the events of NightRose. Let's go!

Robert (the player's grandfather) was fascinated by magic, and had been since he was a child. Not card tricks or anything of that sort. Robert's fascination was with real magic. Spells, potions, enchantments… he studied them all. He would spend all day up in his attic, trying things out. Robert had never successfully performed any real magic, or at least until the night of September 13, 1975. It was that night that he stumbled across a spell that opened a portal to a different world… Havenreach. Robert was sucked into the portal, never to return.

Many months passed. Robert learned of Aravolyn, an evil entity who was slowly devouring Havenreach. Knowing that he needed to do something, Robert began studying intensely, learning many new spells. Once he felt he was ready, he set out to defeat Aravolyn. There was a fierce battle, but Robert eventually came out victorious. Havenreach was once again peaceful… or at least until Aravolyn regained power, and set out with a thirst for revenge.
