So I went to a website called Hack.net on a whim. It is a picture of a bug. Woohoo! I figured, however, that there had to be more to the domain "Hack.net," than a bug -- so I examined the source -- which lead me to a semi-obscure link halfway down the page to a website called Ninebows.com -- which was equally obscure. It consists of several binary numbers. I guessed that they were ACII codes, and so I converted them. The final message was "pls get /two" -- what does this mean? It is obvious that this series is a puzzle, meant to weed out the idiots (namely, me) from the real hackers. Is this some higher force I'm meddling with? What does the message mean? Could it be unicode values?

get is an HTTP command. Try connecting with telnet to the sever and typing in "GET /two". /two is a directory of some sort.

Thats just my guess.

If you go to /two on the same site, there is more text.

Stuck on /two -- figured that out a sec after post... Comes to "27 26 30+3 11+1 15 22+1 23-1 23-1 22-2" -- which, evaluated is 27, 26, 33, 12, 15, 23, 22, 22, 20. I'm not sure if thats it though. I tried showing the char code of the first number... gibberish. When it was converted from hex, gibberish too. Even for octal -- all the conversions are no good. I didn't think they'd do the same thing twice, anyway. Any ideas?

I figured that thing on /two was something with postfix evaluation, but i'm not sure.

edit: I don't think so, not enough operators for it to work out.

Perhaps its a password or sequence to open somthing? Port knocking access sequence?

I'm pretty sure it's not something on the same domain, 'cause I did a google search for pages on the same domain as ninebows.com and it only turned up three results (ninebows.com, /two & /three)

well google only links to page he finds & only finds page that are linked somewhere so if no one found the solution yet & there is no direct link on that website it's not on google (beside having it not be on google is as simple as asking for google not to add it in your page)

I don't really know that much about networking (Into graphics, mehself, and by not much, I mean nothing at all) -- but I searched around and got a basic grasp of what port knocking is. But I still don't really understand it. How could "port knocking" be used to reach the next level of the enigmatic Hack.net?

Eh. I'm really not much of a hacker, and I don't think that I will be able to advance much further with my knowledge of networking. I'm not sure if I'm going to give up quite yet, but I really shouldn't ask for answers beyond the basics -- that would take the fun out of this.
