Hi, I'm doing some configuration testing for my game, psycho boy 3D (think paperboy), an arcade dodge 'n shoot sort of thing for windows. Download it here or through the showcase link below. I'd like to know what setup you have (graphics card, memory, processor, windows ver.), what fps you get, and whether it worked ok. Thanks! EDIT: The zip is about 4MB.

Pretty nice. I got 49-58 Fps. Rather fun too - I needed a little break.
My system is running XP Pro w/ a 1.4Ghz Intel Pentium M with 512MB System Ram and an Intel intergrated graphics card.

I had a long, detailed reply, but my password was wrong and I lost it. The jist of it was that it barely ran on my gf's 4-year-old computer. GameDev should store this info so that I don't lose long replies when I'm stupid. :)

Game looked like it had 16 colors. Couldn't see the menu options cause it was black text on black background. (Probably related to previous problem.) Looked to run at about 2-3 FPS.

700 MHz Pentium III
128 MB RAM
Intel 82810e DC-133 System/Graphics Controller

Hopefully you'll have better replies from more recent computer users. :)

Weird. the game is pretty reliant on the graphics card capabilities, but the low colour depth is an odd one. What windows version was it running on? Was the desktop set to 256 colours?

Cheers.

Very nice, gotta love the nuclear buildings. I was going to say it ran at 60 FPS, and then noticed I had vsync turned on - it now runs at ~135 FPS. There were no problems during gameplay.

Specs :
Win XP SP2
AMD Athlon 64 3400+
1.0 Gb RAM
2.19 GHz
NVidia GeForce 5500FX

Cheers.

Windows XP. I know it's higher than 256 colors, but I'm not sure offhand if it's high color or true color...I'll have to check that when I get to my g/f's apt. again.

Good game. It was fun :) The nuclear companies kept killin me :P

You may consider locking the frame rate to 30 or so. I had between 400-500fps during my run.

Specs :
Windows XP
Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHZ
1.0G RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

Ok, cheers. I'll look into that one, probably something to do with the commands for setting up the window.

Did you try it in non-fullscreen mode? If it works in a window, it may be something to do with my code for setting the screen mode.

Thanks! [smile]

It worked great! A tad bit hard, but I thought it is a really nice game. I kept on hitting the Nuke Co.s though [headshake] My only gripe is the way the menu's work. If you scroll down or up, the entire menu moves. I'd like to see a static menu, but that's just me [wink] Great work!

~120 FPS on:
Windows 98
AMD Athlon XP2200 1.8 GHz
512 MB RAM
NVidia FX 5200 128 MB VRAM

First of all, I think the game is well-balanced and very addictive. The FPS were smooth and the game ran well in fullcsreen and window mode. I really like those cartoon type of houses. It would be cool to get extra points when performing mid-air-bull's-eye on those evil snipers and maybe also for putting down trees and avoiding them before they hit the ground :)

edit: one time I saw a car which was driving half-way inside the houses.

this link is probably more useful, explains the game a little more.

I've recently made it a little easier. I've finished the configuration testing for it (and handed in my dissertation phew [wink] ) but I still welcome any comments on it. [smile]
