Since Mothers Day is about 10 months away, I'm not thinking about it right now.

I wanted to get my mom the book "YOU", which she really wants because she saw it on Oprah. It is basically a health book, and offers common sense advice, but because it was on Oprah, which 50000 bazillion other women watch, it sold out within one hour of the end of the show. So when i goto the store the next day, the sales jerk is laughing his head off at me, and he was like, the next copy you can get is in 3 weeks. Damn.

I went with the old standards - flowers for the wife and a card for my mother. If it ain't broke don't fix it. [grin]

Why would you get flowers for your wife on mothers day? Even if she is a mother, shes [probably] not your mother. Wierd.

Alot of people give gifts to motherly figures, not just their actual mothers.

I made this picture in the middle of finals week for my mother because she said she wanted one of those $20 ones from Target. scaled to a full sheet of photo glossy paper, it looks really nice.

Phew! Got a bit nervous (especially considering that my mother is visiting me tomorrow [wink])... But in Sweden, it's celebrated on the last Sunday in May.

It's amazing how many holidays I would miss if it weren't for the internet. Bless you, internet.

In the UK we honour the original mothering Sunday as "mothers day"

Bah, Mother's day is just a another corporate holiday.

The mother's day is on 8th of March, even in the US. Only that few people in the US celebrate that date. I will not go on a rant about the US elitism in dissregarding so many international standards.

My calendar says that is International Women's Day, not Mother's day.

Firefly DVD set, a couple of those chocolate and cookie/candy covered apples (like the ones that are rocky road flavored with the chocolate, marshmallows, chocolate bits and stuff) and a few chocolate covered frozen bananas. Can't go wrong with DVDs and chocolate :)
