Operation Dog Tag

Operation Dog Tag is one of the visually most interesting games which appeared in 4E4 contest on Gamedev.net server. It is not the first time contest is held. Recent resurrection of the popular contest brought entries with extreme quality. So even if Operation Dog Tag (likewise for example excellent Call Of Booty and other entries) didn't reach to the highest ranks it is a piece worth your attention.
Essentially it's a FPS set to near future. The story is set to postapocalyptic city in which players get a hold of a few conventional weapons and go zombie-hunting. In the beginning it is fairly easy, later it gets frustrating because it is harder to kill undead. In general the playability is not the strongest feature: no one likes problems with hardware and controls. On the other hand, graphics and sounds are really excellent.


Call of Booty

Call of Booty is very nice though a little short shooter. For the freeware it is very nicely graphically done. FaceHat Software presents simple task: collect as much gold as possible on the island and get out before time runs out.
This brings not only running about in 3d scenes with FPS view, but it also means you have to fight enemies with various weapons or even vehicles which can be used to collect your finances. To wage a war as a modern pirate against ninjas living on the island is good fun. Even if the game has bugs (author admits in the FAQ that the game is unstable on some machines and that he was not able to solve this problem). But those happy people, who manage to run CoB without problems with speed and stability, can enjoy perfect FPS.


Toy Robo

Toy Robo is excellent action game, which managed to place as a second in a Four Elements contest even with competion from hits like Ninja Loves Pirate or Call of Booty.
It is an isometric shooter in which player is presented as a robot with lighting gun similar to classic props from Star Wars. Player is presented a series of tasks which usually mean fights with tens of enemies in arenas built from cubes.
The game is completely 3d. In contrast to the other entries in contest it runs very smoothly on slower computers, it does not freeze, it does not suffer from texture and effect corruption or other technical defects. Thanks to this the playability of the Toy Robo is on a high level. Controlling the robot is easy using the WASD keys, space for jumping and mouse. Camera positions itself in reasonable places. Very good isometric title.

yeah our game got in 4 video game magazine cds in eastern europe. But i have the same problem as you i dont understand at all ! :)

google the name of your game project you will be surprised ! it might have made it somewhat big in other countries that dont use english.
