Transatlantic grocery shopping

Oh, one other thing... are you using a UK credit card? I usually have to use my CC as opposed to Visa Debit / Switch card when buying off US-based websites.

Are you sure about that? It's very easy to find here and I'm only a few hours drive from the border. Sounds like the Americans get it imported from Canada, not the UK. It might cost her a little more then American made cereals, but shipping it over the Atlantic seems like a little bit much.

nope, its been around forever, I used to eat it loads growing up (3 bricks with warm milk and enuff sugar to keep you hyper all day, heh) and I've just recently (well, september) started to again since I started having breakfast pre-college.. forgot how nice it was [grin]

If we really were what we eat, I would resemble a weetabix biscuit. They sell them here in Orange County, CA at Albertsons. Tell him her to try there and if he she cant find them there to try "whole foods".

Also Albertsons let you request foods for them to stock, so if they dont have it yet, tell him her to put in a request.

I am not 100% sure, but I think there are laws against shipping any kind of perishables by individuals.

Well, I'm going on what she's told me - she's in Florida, so she's pretty far away from the Canadian border. I note that there is a US subsidiary as well; they seem to sell Weetabix in the US under the brand name "Barbara's Bakery," and that's where I was looking for stores earlier.

I hadn't really thought about making this a Valentine's gift, but I guess it /could/ be if I can get it there in time. Neither she nor I are particularly into the whole Valentine thing but she would likely appreciate the sillyness of it. And she'd appreciate the cereal.

Maybe in your country, but my mom shipped me all kinds of perishables from U.S. to Japan. Especially beef jerky (which has warnings in Japanese about its import [rolleyes])
