Team name: OpenFrag OpenFrag is aiming to be a full-blown opensource game-engine. While using the most powerfull opensource libraries around and build on the Yake framework and also providing tools like the Storm editor and our own distribution system, BitVapour, we think we’ve created a really decent package for opensource developers. About page Project Name: Broken Alliance Brief description: BA is a medieval fps game. It's mainly focussed on multiplayer gaming. Currently we're mostly aiming for modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Fortress (attack /defend the castle). Target aim: OpenSource Compensation: None Technology: OpenFrag will be released on Linux, Mac and Windows Libraries: Openfrag is based on the Yake framework. This means: - Yake framework - Ogre3D (3d renderer) - Novodex/ODE (physics) - FreeSL (OpenAl wrapper - sound) - CEGUI (gui) - Full oFusion support (excellent plugin for 3ds Max, exporter for Maya also available.) Map formats: .OSM (oFusion); .scene (DotScene) 3d models: Any modeller that can export to .obj, .3ds or .blend Full file format overview - Xfire support Talent needed: Mainly: - Modellers (modelling, texturing) We need someone for the map models. This means: medieval style houses and props. - Texturer As you can see on the screenshots, we've a castle. Allthough, it's not properly UV mapped and textured, hopefully someone is willing to redo this. - Programmers (cpp) To work either on: oF Core, Broken Alliance or on tools. - Concept artist Creating medieval based concepts (houses, props) - Map designer Design and make entire maps (using oFusion) Also welcome: Everyone ;) Team structure: OpenFrag is lead by 5 people, called Teamleaders. Although, we don't use a certain hierarchy, we only do this because you need a little structure, but mainly everyone is equal to each other, there is no boss, no one will boss you around, you only will be asked if you could do a certain task, if you can't or don't want to, it's no problem at all. We're a bunch of hobbyists, maintaining a unique way of working with each other. It's always fun, which is our motivation. I'm the lead artist/gamedesign for the OpenFrag. Although i know almost of all things a bit, i've written a few viewers (OSM, DotScene) myself aswell as some simple 3d programs. Mainly i focus on managing OpenFrag in general, mapping a bit, doing just a bit of everything. Currently i'm also working on the 2 trailers for the upcoming game-exhibition. The castle screenshots which are shown are also made by me. At the moment we've around 10 active people, varying from modellers, programmers to soundcomposers. Website: www.openfrag.org OpenFrag Wiki Contacts: ifass@openfrag.org / PM OpenFrag forum irc.openfrag.org #openfrag (step by it's fun there ;) ) Additional Info: Gameshow OpenFrag is featured at the Karelian Xplay 2006. Therefore we're currently working on a trailer (2 actually) and some other stuff, like the demo and these flyers. For the fast people, if you make a model or anything else before this gameshow starts, you've a good chance it'll be shown there. Demo A preview-demo of the map can be found here. It's nothing special.. the demo is just my own viewer, not the OpenFrag core. - Press C to switch camera Please note, my viewer uses no optimization at all, also, this map has been made within 2 hours (thanks to oFusion.. it rocks). The performance in the end can be at least 2 to 4 times better.. i'm not that good at optimizations. A full demo (openFrag powered) will be released within ~2 months. 2D art - Character concepts - 2D gallery - Wallpapers 3D and screenshots - Wip: Castle shot 01 | Castle shot 02 | Castle shot 03 | Castle shot 04 | - Gallery: 3D Gallery - Characters: Human Knight | Orc Ranged | Orc Melee - Foliage shots: Shot 1 | Shot 2 | Shot 3 | Shot 4 Sounds Database of one of our soundmembers.
