You should probably describe what the game actually is. As of now, you have'nt actually said one thing about the game other than the title.

Because the information is somewhat classified.
The company should be the only people with the detailed information,
All information you would like to know about the project should be directly asked towards me.

Thanks,
Helios

It's hard to get potential workers excited about the product if you won't tell them anything. The template is intended to force you to reveal information about your product in the hopes that applicants can better understand if the project fits them.

I am sure it would not hurt your project too much to talk about some of the more exciting aspects of it; perhaps add a paragraph or two.

by not revealing information, I think your chances of getting interested people will be less, since people will not bother to email you.
also by not telling what it is I'm sure you'll attract a number of people that will just turn away once they know what it's about (since it may not fit their needs/wishes), a thing that is instantly avoided if you gave more info.

Compensation:
Will be discusses privately

does this mean payment will be discussed privately, or does it mean you will only tell it's volunteer work when asked privately?

IF you pay a salary or per model, and IF the project suits my needs I MIGHT be interested to join as a 3d modeller

However you fail to think outside of the box, this is initially a test, and it's purpose is to lure those diligent, non-lazy employees out, however, wasting your time posting about how I should be placing detailed information about the product on the website shows that you are unfit. If you want detailed information then contact me rather then posting here.
On another note: It says contact me, not reply, good job at reading the criteria for joining.

edit: and yes there IS conpensation, but it is detailed and i'd like to discuss privately to make an agreement on how exactly it will be done, aswell as the benefits.

(I'd just like to step in here to say that you made the assumption that everyone who isn't groveling blindly at your feet to work for you is lazy and unfit for the position. Your arrogant and sarcastic response will only turn people away from your project. I purposefully did not quote you in case you'd like to edit your response to zEROx, as well as the moderator, who were only trying to help. I will erase my post immediately if you feel I've crossed a line. Keep in mind that this post was here to help you, whether or not you think you need it.)

That's an arrogant position to take. There are literally hundreds of other Help Wanted posts out there, and people aren't going to be spending a lot more time sending out emails and harassing people over IM to get an idea for a single project.

The template is intended to release information; that's why it's there. Before it, we had people who just went "please email me for more details" which was utterly useless at getting people to actually email them for details due to the aforementioned glut of offers. I'm a moderator -- my purpose in asking is to benefit your project in revealing information to attract other people.

I could quite honestly care less whether you think I'm 'fit' for your idea or not.

You should just leave an open port on your box and have prospective employees connect to it, then send you a secret code. Only those who manage to figure out the myriad of mazes and puzzles and rolling balls can be worthy enough for you to even consider their employment.

Either that, or remove all your contact information from the original post. That'll make it interesting.

I think you'll find that most reputable employers will be honest in their job listing. It is in the best interest of both the employer and the employee (for reasons described above).

Unless the employer is attempting to scam employees...

Suffice to say that, without posting what it is you're actually doing (aside from being in breach of the Help Wanted rules), we're just going to assume the worst.

After all, a little research reveals that your previous project was a first person MMO, and that your payment structure was "some percentage when we make money" (I'm loathe to call this a royalty). And that it failed miserably.

And that you need a graphic designer.

oh great so if I want to get a job I look in the newspaper but none of the jobs there explain what it is, so I have to call them all one by one until I find one where they need what I offer, and only then see if it is good enough.
does this make sense to you? not to me

it seems to me you want people to be looking to work on your project, while in fact it is you who is asking for help (the ultimate proof is this thread), and just won't work.

even if you get emails, you'll probably get a lot of useless ones, more than the useful ones anyway, so posting the needed information in case you don't know, in the world of business is called a filter
this way if you were making a 2D MMORPG you will not get 3D low-poly modellers that mostly want to work on an RTS, which you would immediately turn away because they would be useless to the project

btw it's been a week since you initially posted. have you gotten any useful emails yet?

You're right that there's only a small pool of really talented programmers/artists/musicians etc so don't you think that they'll be able to pick and choose the projects they partake in?

If you were looking for a job which would you choose from the below?

"Person needed to do X, Y or Z, compensation will be discussed in private, no details of what the job entails"

or from one of the many like

"Looking for Lead Design with at least 3 years experience in X and 5 in Y, Z would be beneficial. Job will involve working with clients in Paris, London and The Hague to develop a new European Tax Platform. £60,000-80,000 + benefits."

Now that's still a pretty bad description but the choice is obvious... you can only apply to so many as it takes time and effort so why would you waste time on the first one?

there is no point in replying here just to interfere with it's original intentions, so i ask AGAIN, Please stop posting here, none of you are going to be hired, there is no point in it.

The other posters (including myself) are calling you out for failure to release vital information in your advertisement - contrary to the rules of the Help Wanted forum. I doubt any of them are interested in working for you given your current failure to provide that information.

You can think of their posts as good advice to you, which you chose to ignore. At which point their posts become a fair warning to others.

As far as I am concerned, this has moved way outside of the rules of the Help Wanted forum. Consider it closed.

You are welcome to try again with another thread, on the condition that you take on board the constructive criticism in this thread and legitimately fill out the Help Wanted template.
