Thanks, Puzzle Maker. It is wonderful to be back. We have been working hard on trying to sign independent devs, and it is going well. Nexuiz was the first game to be an official game on our system.

It'll be nice if you made all of those linkable because quite frankly I don't want to have to cut and paste all of those addresses.

Games must be reviewed by SIE to ensure there are few bugs/viruses

Isn't that a bit odd?

Due to the system being open, we have to ensure that people do not create programs that cause problems for people that download it.

So you want Half-life 2 and Oblivion on your console?

Isn't that a bit of wishful thinking?

So Quad core 2Ghz console that also has a 450Mhz PPC processor? Why? 64MB GPU? But wait, it also says 512MB shared ram(500Mhz), implying to me shared with the GPU. Which is it?

ffs are you people actually buying into this thing as ever getting anywhere? Encouraging someone to follow their dreams is quite different from egging them on towards something which is absolutely guaranteed to get nowhere at all.

This is the same forum we encourage newbies to start on smaller projects when they have illusions of making their own MMORPG, yet there are still plenty of people willing to encourage others to take on a project which is even more rediculous. Failing at goals contributes heavily to burnout, you people are doing a disservice to these kids by telling them to go for it.

Sorry, that page was out of date, and I just made some changes. When we say "shared" RAM, we mean that the GPU can access the system RAM if needed. The reason we are using a PowerPC co-processor is that we found that it can perform some operations faster than our custom architecture.

Also, we have found that Valve and Bethesda are very independent developer friendly, and we are trying to work out deals with the both of them.

Those guys have gracefully took all the critisim the community could throw at them. They picked constructive bits out of long posts ranting about how impossible their project was. I know professionals who couldnt do that. Im glad to hear they havent given up.

Quite frankly, I think the project is very feasible when put in certain terms. Such as: a standard but modern hardware system, an non-Windows OS (ex: BeOS, Linux, BSD variant), an API (ex: SDL, home-grown, Allegro), and a game distribution system (ex: web page, forum, FTP database). Those things could be accomplished within 1 to 2 years time --with the sufficient manpower and expertise.

But competing with the Big BoysTM, that won't be happening anytime soon.

Anyways guys keep yourself grounded and open to new and very feasible ideas [smile]

Or you can just take all that knowledge, determination, and hard work and make the Dreamcast actually viable and less painful to work on... just a suggestion [grin]

Well what the hell did you expect?

You're vaporware. Until that changes, no one gives a damn.

That's obviously not on Crystal Tiger. You could at least do us the decency of not outright lying.

Our console is going to look that good, maybe even better. We are preparing to run Nexuiz on our hardware and thenm we will for sure know how it will look. We are already signing more games, like Assyria. More soon.
