Christmas theme

Everytime I log in I have to change the Default (Christmas) theme back to Black.

Let's see what people say. If it is concluded to be a bug and not a cookie problem on your ends then i'll log the bug to the system.

What browser are you using?

Everything seems to work fine for me with the theme switching.

IE7.

Just logged in again and the theme had switched back to Default.

How can it be a cookie problem?

I don't know, i'm just speculating that because it seems only you two have the problem. It's unlikely to be the site because it seems that everyone else is fine.

I'm using Opera. It may be a cookie problem specific to Opera, yet, I don't have any cookie problem with anything else, thus I suspect something wrong (but possibly correct to other browsers) with gdnet.

Ok i'll report it as a suspected Opera related bug.

Does this mean that you don't have cookie problems with other sites in Opera, or does it mean that you don't have problems with sites including GD.net in other browsers, or both?

I only had in mind other sites in Opera. I don't think the problem arrises with IE but I have not done extensive testing.

Though when the problem is triggered in Opera and I'm switched back to christmas theme, that becomes visible on both Opera and IE. I suppose that may be due to the problem on Opera causing my account settings to be changed and not just a cookie.

Hi Dave,

I seem to be having the same problem, which occurs across multiple browsers (Firefox 1&2, IE 6) across multiple computers and operating systems (Windows XP SP2 on my work computer, Ubuntu "Edgy" Linux and Windows XP SP2 on my home computer). The only common factor involved is my account.

I've got the same problem (Firefox 2.0, Windows XP SP2). I have it setup to not accept cookies by default, but gamedev.net is in the exceptions list.

It also happens every time I make a post - after I submit the post I have to manually go back and set the profile back to classic black.


edit: Same thing with Firefox 1.5.0.8 (with all cookies turned on by default) running on Xubuntu via VMware. Only other thing I can think of is that it started happening today and my GDnet+ membership also expired today.

Come to think of it, that's when I noticed this behavior: right after my GDNet+ membership expired.

I have the same problem, and it didn't start until my GDNet+ registration expired a few weeks ago, too. It's REALLY annoying.

Well, now(and ever since my gdnet+ expired) it changes back to the white theme every time, instead of the black theme that I prefer. And seeing as I'm not the only person with this problem(theme changing back to default constantly after gdnet+ expiring), I'd chalk it up as a bug.
