This is the orbituary of my 200gb external HDD, which I kept all my purchased games on. It died just a few moments ago, upon which I completed the time honoured ceremony of angrily throwing it into the trash. I noticed it was getting rather slow, so I defragmented it. A few minutes in I smelt burning. Windows then bluescreened and I had to reboot, and upon booting up it could not recognise the USB device, complaining of a malfuction. I hope my USB bus has not been fried along with it. I had just this very day completed all the assault rifle challenges on COD4 and been awarded my prize, a gold ak47. Now, if I want to get the trophy again, I need to get 2100 head shots with a variety of weapons, and reach level 55. I might not bother. I also need to download all my steam games, or find all my game CD's, and reinstall. I had lots of awesome saves on GTA vice city. It is a sad day. I am thankful that I did not lose anything important, since I backup to the Uni server. When I bought this hdd I broke my own golden rule: always go mid range. The lower pricetags will break themselves, the higher pricetags are overpriced. Instead, I bought the cheapest 200gb external hdd I could find. Ironically, I never got past the first 100gb before the sad event mentioned above transpired. From now on, I stick to mid range hdd's, I defragment regularly, and I don't bother to work on challenges in a game. Farewell, my friend.
