I'm a freshman majoring in computer science and mathematics. I have quite a lot of experience programming in my spare time, I've got top grades in my classes so far, and I have a part time job at a small, local software company, although I don't write much code right now. I'd really love to start internships early, as early as this coming summer. And I know it's important to apply early in the school year for the serious, good internships, so I'm searching around now. I'm interested in hearing which companies offer good internship programs. I'm not looking only for internships in the game industry; any software development internship is within my radar of consideration. I've heard nothing but amazing stories about people who've interned at Microsoft. But other than that I'm not sure which companies are good and which aren't. Relocation for the summer isn't a problem. Thanks very much for your time and help.
