Question to all the game programmers
Dear Friends,
I am a great fan of flash games, someone has proposed my team to start programming professional music for them, while browsing on the net, I have noticed I could not find a single website with proper music 100% free that gives you the right to resell your game without a trouble.
I have found instead a lot of websites giving out loops/samples and royalty free music in which you still have to buy a commercial license that can cost a lot of money.
I need as many people as possible participating with the launch of this project, I first need to know, what you really need as a programmer, and what would you like to see in a sound library.
Now, as a music programmer, I need to ask you a few questions in order to set up our new library:
-Do many of you struggle with the in game music programming?
-Would you like to find a library on the net with excellent music(from world, to dance, classical, war type music) with no cost related licensing, just a "buy a pint" button for the people wishing to give us a few pennies, with no obligations of course.
-Would you like to have a library with more vocal samples like "you loose", "you win", "draw", "attack", "defense" and more words using special effects? If yes, could you give us a list of the most used samples?
-How do you normally program a music for your games? Could you please give us a step by step, this way we can understand your work a little better.
-How do you work out the musical structure of a game:
1)Intro
2)main game
3)you lose
4)you win
5)ending
is it?
-Finally, if you are looking for "that" music but still cannot find it in our library, would you like us to build/program a music for you? If yes, how much would a programmer pay for a music that is licensed only for his projects?
-$50
-$40
-$30
-$20
-$10
Thanks for your help, we will do our best to create what you are looking for.
Spend less time messing around with music, spend more time programming your games :-) that's what we are after.
We spoke to a few programmers already and they told us that sometime it can be a pain in the """ to find the right music for their games, this is why we would like to start this project.
No complicated licensing, no high cost, all for commercial and personal use.
