Why are all good bands evil?

I relooked at the song titles. They aren''t acutally bad, but I''m quite sure I wouldn''t be interested in their lyrics.

Well, you could check out the newer Dimmu Borgir records (with english titles and lyrics).
I don''t think Old Man''s Child''s lyrics are too extreme, nothing like Cannibal Corpse anyway
(which is just another death metal band...)

Slipknot ??? Ah come on ... Korn, that''s the real thing. though Slipknot has some merit, I still like Korn. And for some more things to hear, why don''t you look for Soulfy, with Max Caballera (from Sepultura).
Fear Factory, of course, though one might argue it''s a bit more on the industrial side.
Linkin park is nice.
You might be tempted by Rammstein, a german industrial band that absolutel kicks ass (and they sing in german, too )
Mp3.com has a very cool metal section with good bands...

Well, it really depends how deep you are in metal, really.
Tell me what you think of those few ideas, I have tons more somewhere in memory...

Dimmu Borgir and Soulfly sound pretty good.

Korn''s older stuff is kind of good, and so is Fear Factory''s. I''ve listened to Rammstein, but it lacks something (I think it''s not heavy enough).

I went and read the lyrics to some songs by Old Man''s Child, and they''re actually not that bad. Maybe I''ll buy an album of theirs.

I second ahw''s recommendation concerning Rammstein. I like Nine Inch Nails as well.

well, NiN and Rammstein are very much the same family. They are much more industrial than anything. One could say NiN are goth, too.
If you like both bands (that would be for TheSalmon), you are probably gonna like A Perfect Circle, which is lead by the singer of Tool (another good band).

If you are into death metal and black metal, you should check northern countries, they have great labels (if I could remember the names, that is).
Biohazard has some cool songs, I like it ''cause it''s still a bit musical, while quite heavy.
I can''t remember one I really liked, something Angels... really good.

And if you really like screeching noises and goth style, you might like Cradle Of Filth (of course). Personally, I love the style (goth), but I can''t stand the band... it''s just too noisy

I guess you could say that I really like industrial. I saw a Cradle of Filth video once, kinda interesting but not really my style. I''ll look into A Perfect Circle, though.

A Perfect Circle is incredible. Not industrial, not really heavy rock. It''s not really like anything which is why it''s so great.

The older stuff of Rage Against The Machine is also cool. Be sure to check out The Battle of Los Angeles (album). Most tracks on that album are kick ass.

And you call yourself an Rage fan? Tsk tsk. First of all: The Battle of Los Angeles is the third album (they have four, so its not considered early), and second of all, that album was the weakest out of all of their stuff. Pick up the self-titled for a good time.

Some decent metal bands I''ve found are: Godsmack (c''mon, u gotta love them), Drowning Pool, Metallica (gotta love them too), Limp Bizkit is good for a mix of rap and rock, as is Papa Roach.

Actually, if someone would ask me I''d say they made three and The Battle of Los Angeles was the third and last one. RATM died when de la Rocha left the band (even if Tom is still damn good with his guitar). That''s just my opinion though.
I second that their first album (92) is a piece of art, all songs are great and very full of energy.

But still, they''re on Sony... *sigh* That''s a sign of pure evilness is it not? Even though I know RATM aren''t, but still...

You are forgetting Rage''s newest one (with renegades of funk), with a bunch of cover songs, the CD is pretty good, and its a decent way to say goodbye to De La Rocha.

One band I''m sure most of you haven''t heard of is Dog Fashion Disco. Look up their CD "Anarchist of Good Taste". It has some of the more original work I''ve heard out of anybody for a while. Give it a try. You''ll like it

Check out the "Brutal Planet" CD from Alice Cooper.
Yeah, he''s what most of you would call older-than-shit, but this album is really good!
The best songs are the title track, Angry Young Man, and Take it Like a Woman.
You''ll be satisfied.

Personally, I think Renegades (RATM''s latest album) is the weakest of all. Most of the tracks are reworked versions of other artists.

PS: Ofcourse I know The Battle of Los Angeles is the third album, but I meant the older stuff is also cool. Anyway, why do you think TBOLA is so bad? It got ''Sleep now in the fire'', ''Testify'' etc all excellent stuff. I guess tastes still differ...

Renegades sucked. If anyone wants it, Ill sell it very cheaply and mail it to them. Battle of Los Angeles was good, but it was missing something... the first album is an absolute classic though.

Anyone here heard Incubus? Their old stuff (Enjoy Incubus, SCIENCE) is amazing.... I listen to them all the time. The newer stuff is a bit wishy washy though, they've gone a bit soft.

Oh and if you want a laugh, check out Lawnmower Deth. Wih classic tracks like "Weebles Wobble But They Never Fall Down", "Did You Spill My Pint" and "Sumo Rabbit And His Inescapable Trap Of Doom" you just know they are a quality metal band....

You can''t really diss Renegade''s for being reworked versions of other songs, as it IS a cover album, and thats what those kinds of albums do.

The main reason I didn''t like The Battle of LA is cuz it lacked a bit if Rage''s traditional sound, and the songs were rather bland when it comes to lyrics. Just my opinion though.
