Selling a demo?

I have been developing my first game and need some marketing and potential publisher advice. I do not have a clue how to market a demo or where do I look for potential publisher? It is a rpg/builder/farming game. The graphics and game play are not done so what would be the best method the actual concept? Could a power point (video) with concept art and some UE4 blueprints be acceptable in the gaming field, or would I need to make a video of actual game demo game play, which would take longer?

Any feedback and advice would be appreciated,

Thank you

Do your research. Identify other games that yours can compete with or be compared with. Identify their publishers. Analyze the data. If Company A makes farming games and builders but not RPGs, and Company B makes RPGs but not farmers/builders, maybe it might make sense to pitch to both companies. Or if you find that Company C is always competing with Company A for marketshare, then you ought to try pitching to Company C. You get their contact information from their websites, and you should look up the companies in financial sites too, to see their legal incorporation data.

See the grid in http://sloperama.com/advice/lesson11.htm where this exact question is analyzed in depth (what you pitch makes a huge difference).

Three posts asking about the same thing, all in early August. Maybe people are creating summer projects and now looking to cash in before the fall semester begins! ?

I have some questions about crowdsourcing: Are there advantages to crowdsourcing my idea? What could be the disadvantages?

Of course, there are advantages. Your game is known if the crowd sources your idea. Publishers have eyes and ears. Disadvantages: you have to work like hell and pay good money to develop the whole crowdsource campaign, including a demo and marketing sufficient to get people to cough up cash. Even if you meet your goal, you'll probably run out of cash spinning wheels before getting the game to the point where a publisher will perk up its ears.
