In Indie studios the answer seems to range from everything to most, due to not having a dedicated programmer sometimes, but what about in bigger studios where the focus is just on game design?
I've heard it only has to be enough to test your ideas and then push the rest to a programmer.
I'm planning on learning a lot more than that before being a game designer, but I'm wondering if I'll be over prepared with my programming skills (No such thing ik, but you get it) or if that's the minimum I need to be a game designer for a big team.
