Elementrix – Free HTML5 Chemistry Falling-Block Roguelite

Hi! I’ve released Elementrix, a free HTML5 falling-block roguelite built around chemistry, progression, and chain reactions.

The basic idea is simple: drop elements onto the board and combine them into molecules.

As a run continues, you level up and unlock new elements, block shapes, and abilities. What starts as a simple falling-block puzzle gradually turns into lasers, bouncing radiation, explosions, ores, and huge chain reactions.

I’ve taken small pieces of inspiration from games I love: Vampire Survivors for escalating progression, Breakout / pinball for bouncing projectiles, Bomberman for chain explosions, Gradius for increasingly excessive weapons, and Super Smash Bros. for the feeling of impact.

I originally started making Elementrix as a small chemistry game for my son. Then I became increasingly interested in lasers, explosions, radiation, and ridiculous builds, so the educational part gradually became secondary.

You don’t need to know chemistry to play.

The game runs directly in the browser and supports touchscreen controls, so it can also be played on phones.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

• Controls and responsiveness
• Difficulty and pacing
• Roguelite progression
• Whether the chain reactions feel satisfying
• Whether the game is understandable without knowing chemistry

It’s still actively being developed, and I’m planning to add more elements, reactions, abilities, and combinations.
