Update to Store Tags: Additions, Removals, and Edits
Steam has updated the official store tag list: 17 new tags were added, 28 were removed, and several others were merged or edited. The company says the goal is to improve recommendation quality and help players find games that actually match what they want.
For developers, this is mostly a metadata cleanup task, but it matters. Steam explicitly recommends revisiting your Tag Wizard if any of the changed tags apply to your game, because tag order influences both customer perception and what shows up on the store page. Steam also notes it uses all 20 visible tags for recommendations, so stale or poorly ordered tags can affect discovery.
