Steam Machine and Steam Frame Standalone Verified
Valve is adding Steam Machine and Steam Frame to the Verified program, with both devices shipping this summer. The practical change is that developers will start seeing test results for these devices in the Partner Dashboard alongside Steam Deck Verified, and Valve says many titles have already been checked.
For Steam Machine, the criteria are nearly the same as Deck Verified: default controls, default graphics settings, and smooth play with no user tweaking. Valve also notes the hardware is about six times as powerful as a Steam Deck, so games that were borderline on Deck due to CPU/GPU limits may still be fine on Machine without any extra work from the studio.
Steam Frame Standalone Verified is a bit different because it covers headset-only play on SteamOS. The focus is on legible text/UI on the built-in display, working default controller mappings, and acceptable default graphics settings for both VR and non-VR titles.
