Celebrating 25 Years of Play: Introducing XBOX Gear, New Community Designs, FanFest Tour Dates, and More
Xbox is using its 25th anniversary to bundle together several player-facing initiatives: community-created profile art, a long-lived anniversary badge, curated Game Pass collections, FanFest events, and a new official gear storefront. For developers, the interesting part is how tightly these programs tie platform identity, community participation, and content curation into a single anniversary campaign.
Two creators from the Xbox community, Klobrille and Ben Kenobi, contributed a set of gamerpics, backgrounds, and a dynamic console theme that are available now. Xbox is also handing out a 25th Anniversary profile badge to anyone who signs in on console, PC, or the mobile app, and that badge will remain available through the end of 2026. That kind of persistent profile reward is a small but useful reminder of how platform holders can extend event branding well beyond a launch window.
On the content side, Xbox Game Pass is getting curated anniversary collections built around notable games from across the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S eras. Confirmed titles include Fable Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Fallout 4, and Psychonauts 2. For studios, this is another example of how catalog visibility can be shaped by platform-level curation, especially for legacy franchises that still carry brand value years after release.
Xbox FanFest is also going global with stops in Cologne on August 26, Tokyo on September 17, London on September 26, Mexico City and Sydney on October 17, Toronto on November 6, and Seattle to be announced. Tickets are...
