Nvidia announces ray-traced Nanite, native anti-cheat, and DLSS 4.5 at Gamescom 2026
Nvidia’s Gamescom push is less about one feature and more about tightening the whole RTX pipeline for developers. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is now live through the Nvidia app for all GeForce RTX GPUs, and Nvidia says the second-generation transformer model folds denoising and Super Resolution into a single system for cleaner ray- and path-traced output.
For teams shipping on Unreal Engine 5, the headline is RTX Mega Geometry. Gears of War: E-Day will be the first game to use it, letting Nanite render at full detail inside ray tracing, and Nvidia says the technique will feed into Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing 2.0 standard. If that lands as promised, the practical effect is broader UE5 support for ray-traced Nanite without each studio having to solve the same geometry problem in-house.
Nvidia also kept expanding its ecosystem play. RTX Spark, its Windows platform combining DLSS, Reflex, and on-device AI agents, is getting support from EA, Embark, and Ubisoft, while EA’s Javelin anti-cheat is being brought in natively. On the content side, Control Resonant, 007 First Light, and several other titles are lining up with DLSS 4.5 or ray tracing support, and RTX Remix picked up the same reconstruction and multi-frame features for modders.
GeForce Now is getting more practical for players and publishers too, with GOG single sign-on, Firefox support, and broader device compatibility on the way. For developers, the takeaway is clear: Nvidia is trying to make its rendering, cloud, and AI stack feel like a default distribution layer, not just a graphics add-on.
“DLSS 5 fuses controllability of the geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI.”
