Moon Studios delays No Rest for the Wicked to March 2027 – "We're holding our games to a standard we won't compromise on"
GamesIndustry.biz reports Moon Studios has delayed No Rest for the Wicked's full release to March 2027, moving it back from the October 2026 target. The action RPG has been in early access since April 2024 and had reached two million copies sold by July 2026, so this is a meaningful slip for a game already deep into its final stretch.
Moon Studios says the game is close, but not close enough for a 1.0 launch it can stand behind. The studio says the extra months will be used to improve performance, tighten the class system, and polish the overall experience rather than rush out a version that still needs work. For teams watching their own late-stage production, this is the familiar tradeoff between shipping on schedule and protecting the quality bar.
The studio also plans more closed and open beta tests in the coming months, with an open beta scheduled for December. Players who buy the game before January 1, 2027 will receive Founders Pack Rewards, and PlayStation pre-orders are set to open in January 2027 so those buyers can earn the same rewards.
In a separate YouTube announcement, founder Thomas Mahler said the team has been in a “mad dash” to finish content and the class system, and that playtesting has shown the game is still not quite there. He said the project has been in prototype form since 2016, underscoring how long Moon Studios has been building toward this release.
