Frontier Developments FY26 adjusted operating profit jumps 62% to £21.4m

GamesIndustry.biz reports Frontier Developments has posted record FY26 financial results, with adjusted operating profit climbing 62% to £21.4 million, the highest in the studio’s history. Revenue rose 16% to £104.8 million, while operating profit nearly doubled to £25.0 million, helped by strong trading, disciplined cost control, and higher tax and expenditure credits.

For developers, the interesting part is that Frontier is still leaning hard on its CMS-style portfolio strategy: Jurassic World Evolution 3 and the Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo franchises are doing the heavy lifting, and the company says it wants to average one CMS game per year. That suggests continued investment in repeatable production pipelines, long-tail community engagement, and franchise-led content planning rather than one-off bets.

Frontier also outlined a few roadmap items. Planet Zoo 2 is set for October 13, 2026, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch is due before the end of FY27, and a new in-house IP CMS game is in full development. The studio has also signed a Disney agreement for a new title based on its portfolio and IP, though specifics haven’t been disclosed.

There are leadership changes alongside the numbers: Dan Lazarides became chief marketing officer last month, and David Braben will move to a non-executive director role on October 1, 2026, while remaining president and founder. CEO Jo Cooke framed FY26 as a landmark year and said the company is positioned for sustainable growth and long-term returns.
