GDC Festival of Gaming appoints four members to advisory board
GamesIndustry.biz reports that GDC Festival of Gaming has appointed four new members to its advisory board: Amir Satvat, Alexa Ray Corriea, Lucien Parsons, and Perrin Kaplan. The group now spans business development, narrative, operations, and marketing/PR, reinforcing the event’s push to broaden the perspectives shaping its programming.
The advisory board already includes more than 50 game industry professionals who help guide the GDC Festival of Gaming program. For developers, that matters because the board’s makeup can influence what kinds of talks, networking formats, and business-facing opportunities make it onto the schedule.
The timing lines up with broader changes to GDC 2027. Last month, GDC VP of content strategy Mark DeLoura outlined a new Business Hall at Moscone West, three new passes, dedicated indie and start-up options, and an updated event schedule aimed at giving attendees more flexibility.
DeLoura said the changes came directly from industry feedback and are meant to make the event more accessible and more useful for the way the industry uses GDC today. In practice, that suggests a stronger emphasis on participation models, business connections, and clearer paths for smaller teams trying to get value out of the show.
“We're thrilled with the wealth of experience and knowledge all our new members bring to share with GDC.”
