Stride launcher/6.0.1 Released
Stride (GitHub Releases) has published launcher/6.0.1, a launcher-focused update that changes how developers pick, install, and open engine versions. The active version can now be either a local build or a release queued for install, recent projects stay usable, and the version list preserves scroll position while installs and removals happen in place.
The biggest practical change is version management: alternate builds are labeled more clearly, recent projects reopen with the exact Stride version they reference when available, and the launcher now marks upgrades and matches Game Studio’s version menu. Release notes also move to a new documentation URL, and the launcher/CLI no longer ship native crash-capture bits like libstridecrash or the reporter.
On the UI side, 6.0.1 brings a dark-by-default launcher theme, updated light-mode styling, vector icons, a custom title bar, clearer progress text, and a cleaner layout for the version list, release notes, and community links. There are also fixes for context menus, uninstall flow, and Visual Studio integration, plus support for opt-in pre-releases and a new rule format for update checks.
The release also removes the target-framework selector, drops Xenko compatibility, and cuts legacy Windows 7/8 support and old install prerequisites. For teams maintaining older setups or custom launcher workflows, those are the migration points to watch.
