you're all gonna be jealous :)

Good Lord, it that a real-time computer screen?? Way too big for me, coding or no coding. I think a 21" monitor at 1024x768 is enough for me!

gaiiden, that's not a monitor screen. it's projected on a canvas with the projector device
and the projector connects instead of the monitor.
i should note that the projector is pretty expensive

how expensive is it? It doesn''t sound any more complex than a monitor is...
Does it just plug into the video card?

heh heh, I knew it wasn''t a monitor, I was just wondering wether it was being used in place of a monitor.

i dont care for bigger screens or resolutions. so haha
What''s its max resolution? I usually don''t like those for normal use since they''re so faded. I wish you could turn up the brightness and contrast.
Hmm, kinda has a washed out look to it. Guess that means it''s below the $7000 price of those ''daylight'' projectors. {Those things can be mighty expensive.} Besides, the best way to use one with a computer is to play DVDs full-screen {provided the resolution is greater than 640x480.}
I''m not jealous. You may have a big screen, but my entire bedroom is just one big technological rat''s nest.

I still prefer a good ol'' CRT monitor. IMHO, you get sharper color and it isn''t washed out. And in the words of another fellow GameDev''er, "Holy Freaking Popsicle Sticks!".

Wouldn''t a monitor/screen that big look pixelated? I think I will stick with my 21" monitor

At my old college we used to have a massive screen like that. The difference was it wan''t projected. It was really cool. Came with a couple of pens you could draw on the screen with (not real pens obviously). Just pluged into the back of the computer. (they were macs btw).
Then again, we had swipe card access systems into the college as well and touch screen computer terminals scattered all over the place to check out what messages you had, what was for dinner, what lesson you should be in etc.
Shame my uni aint as technologically advanced now, all the other departments have only just caught up with the computing department with the changeover from 3.1 to NT4. Boy was that a messy changeover :-)
Does anyone know someone who makes the large screen thingy I''m talking about? It isn''t much thinker than a projected screen but it''s a dam site better.
Regards,
David Stubbs

BTW, imagine how scary windows crashing would become on that monitor. It''d be like the big blue screen from hell.

Yeah, but do you have to rewire your brain every few days?

BTW, I once used the big screen at a church to play N64 (the youth pastor is a cool guy).

wtf! are you completely out of your mind? ;-)
If I had a 21" monitor (which I don''t, I only got a 19") I would crank it up in 2048x1536. Think about it. That''s 4 times as much desktop space to play around with
