I dont have the shots for this but if anyone is running a geforce4 Ti4200 it will run in the DX8 path using medium high settings and at a res of 1024 will achieve 41 FPS. So you'll get all the reflection and refraction with the cool looking bumps :)

I can get shots for this but dont think its really important, unless someone wants them

some fast q's about the r7k ones, since thats what I have on my old PC.
What was the processor?
Does hl2 support openGL, or just direct x?

The processor was a P3 - 1Ghz with 512MB ram. The g2 ones were from a P3 - 866, this bench doesn't seem processor dependant.

As far as I know only Direct3D is supported.
That's a lot, you've been a great help. I'll probably be running in 800*600, as my monitor is 1600*1200 and that's too high. So I can probably look forward to okish performance. As for other specs I'm fine there :)

P4 3.06
512mb ram

Bah, I'm really looking forward to it now. Knowing me it will be released at the end of september, at a time the last thing I'll want to do is play games on my laptop. Ofcourse that's Fresher's week, the best week of socialising in the university calendar. <manic evil voice>Muhahahahahaa, I don't mind if it's delayed to November. </manic evil voice>

Hey no prob, glad to be of help. Yeah with those specs you'll be graphics card limited which should run fine from the looks of it. HL2 is supposed to preload tommorow, or sometime this week so the release wont be that far off.

good luck with uni

btw thanks for the rate :)

So Half-Life 2 is going to preload in a few days, then? Good. I'm hoping HL2 will revitalize my faith in the gaming industry--I expected too much from Doom 3.
for people that want to see what the benchmark looks like fileplanet has a video here

I havent download this myself yet to see if it is what i have but what else can it be :) This might impress you guys more than the screens, although it is only 640x480.
where did you get a half-life 2 demo?

The benchmark comes with the Counter Strike: Source Beta, available to owners of Condition Zero or the ATI HL2 bundle.
