Official Election Day Thread

I'm going before class.. when polls open.. around 8 this morning.. like six hours from now. I'll get to sleep eventaully.

Turned my ballot in last monday, just after I recieved it in the mail.
Seems that the first two towns have voted, and Bush has the lead, so far:

Although I am personally pulling for Kerry to win the election, I think that everyone that can, should vote. Although this was narrowly my first presidential election, being born 1 day too late to have voted for the 2000 election.

Who's election day coverage will you guys be paying attention to? I think I'll be watching The Daily Show and C-SPAN.

NPR, C-Span, Daily Show, and flipping to CNN now and then.

I'll be sticking with the only decent US news source.. PBS for most of the coverage.. though i may watch a little c-span along the way.

I'm psyched to see this finally resolved, though I know the lawyers may get a lot of fresh meat come tomorrow.

I'm happy that I sucessfully convinced my house mate to vote, even though he was swamped with tests. I told him not voting was like being the boss of a factory that makes crap simply because you never come into work to see what your employees are doing. We actually got together to have a vote night and talk about the issues back and forth. It took HOURS, but we both dropped our absentee ballots in early last week.

they're (the news) saying that the results won't be in until wednesday, which seems highly unfortunate.

I'm voting when I get home from class. That's usually around 12-12:30. This is my first time voting for president (I was 16 in the 2000 election). I'm really excited about it [smile]

I will be going to the polls at 7am. The Daily Show will be my coverage, because not only is it honest, but it's funny as well.

Yeah, the second Wednesday of January 2005.

I'm heading in to vote soon. Unfortunately, not being registered, American, or located anywhere near the US, this is going to be somewhat a challenge.

Daily Show and CSpan. They complement themselves quite nicely. CSpan having little or no commentary, and Daily Show being nothing but commentary.

This is first time voting. I still don't know who to vote for in these minor offices like Superintendent of Public Instruction. I've only lived in this state for a year. Someone from WA please tell me who to vote for.

Depending on your political "flavor", go to the washington democratic party website (or washington republican party, or probably any other party) and they'll probably have lists of who and what propositions they endorse. That way you're not voting blindly at least.

It's not quite the same as being an informed voter, but you know then that at least you're supporting someone who's on (roughly) the same party platform.

I guess I'll post here. I was wondering how long you had to wait in line if you voted at the polls today. I went there at about 8 this morning and was through the line and out in just under an hour.

I went in around 7:20, it took me about 15-20 minutes.

I will be voting around 3pm and hoping the lines don't take too long.

I won't be watching any news shows, too busy learning to program :)

6:30 or so, got done by 6:50. There were three lines, based on first letter of last name. 90% of the people there were in the line A-G, including myself and my room mate. I wish my name were Williams or something. We would've been done in five minutes, otherwise. Still isn't worth complaining about, though. (Except for the fact that you can't see that each line is for a different group of names, until you're already almost at the front. And then you gotta get into another line. Grr.. This is probably normal, but I'm a noob.)

I voted last Tuesday, stood in line for an hour at the mall for early voting.

I voted - and went for the popular "All incubants must go" selections in my home state of Mass. Unfortunitly, in my state - no one wants to run against the incumbants - so I wrote myself in instead (State Senate).

So VOTE FOR ME!!!!

I have to admit that I voted mostly Republican (except for President - Went with Kerry, even thoug I don't like him), mainly because the Democrats have such a strong-hold here in the Bay State that they seldom do their jobs or care about the people they represent - since in the state of Mass - being a democrat means that you'll get eleceted for something.
