Sensor Tower acquires AppMagic
Sensor Tower has acquired AppMagic, a mobile app intelligence company that tracks estimated revenue, downloads, and regional market data. The immediate angle for developers is access: Sensor Tower says the deal will expand its SMB offering and give smaller studios and indies a wider view of the market without needing multiple tools.
The company also says AppMagic will help broaden coverage across PC, console, and mobile, plus Live Ops Intelligence. That matters for teams making spend, launch, and content-update calls, because these tools increasingly shape how studios benchmark competitors and spot market shifts. The deal amount wasn’t disclosed.
This follows Sensor Tower’s 2024 acquisition of Data.ai, which was reportedly followed by layoffs affecting 200 employees. So beyond the product story, this is another sign that market-intelligence vendors are consolidating and trying to bundle more of the analytics stack into fewer platforms.
