Space Tail uses a dog protagonist and sensory-driven detective mechanics, while Five Hearts Under One Roof is an FMV romance built around branching choices and multiple endings.

That spread is a useful snapshot of where indie console development is right now: highly specialized mechanics, strong thematic hooks, and platform features that reduce friction for players moving between console and PC. The exact production budgets and team sizes aren’t public here, but the design goals are clear enough to show how different genres can coexist on the same storefront without competing on scope alone.
